about me

Growing up in the backwaters of the Bay of Bengal in a small town called Machilipatnam, my mind often sought to explore worlds beyond my reach. Although interesting people populated my field of view for human behavior in my hometown, it had little to offer me in support of my curiosity. Imagination became my only path to visit worlds I never knew, albeit only in my head.

My step into the world of fiction started with Sindbad the Sailor, Homer’s Trojan War, and The Odyssey, and the mythological epics of Ramayana by Valmiki and Mahabharata by Ved Vyasa. The surprise was not that I would be interested in exploring fantastical worlds in my own work, but the frequency with which these imaginary worlds popped into my head.

Driven by the need to explore worlds that are partially unknown to my readers and me, I often dabble in speculative literature, particularly fantasy and science fiction. My goals in my work are often to depict humanity’s normative features in fantastical situations. A novel I am currently working on is set in a fantasy world where nations are on the verge of conflict over newly unearthed energy resources. This world is filled with magic users and mythical creatures, some of which come together to prevent an all-out war from breaking out.

Being a cinephile and a bibliophile from a young age, picking my favorite books or movies is hard. At this moment, my favorite movies are Dune: Part 2, Hamnet, Sinners and One Battle After Another, and, for books, The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang, The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie, and Borne by Jeff VanderMeer. Some non-fiction books I adore are Behave by Robert Sapolsky, Determined by Robert Sapolsky, and Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari.

This site is a platform I use to showcase my work and to document my progress through an attached blog.
